In our projects, we systematically meet with the goal of preparing a contact for potential communication with the client’s sales department.
This is an interesting direction to move from cold calls to meetings with people for whom your services or product may be relevant.
2 questions arise:
How to specify the goal – and you will find the answer on the first slide.
With the help of which tools to implement this task?
Let’s check? Here is a short checklist of preparatory actions for getting to know each other:
- We find the right person on LinkedIn;
- We study what he writes about and what he reacts to;
- “What if he doesn’t write about anything?” – you ask. Then Google, deeper research and a general understanding of the target segment will help us.
- We send an invitation.
We don’t make the first messages in the style of “Hello! Nice to see you in my network of contacts.”
Why? Some things are better not to complicate – we just send an invitation.
- We leave several likes and relevant comments during the week;
- We invite you to subscribe to the company’s page;
- If you decide to write something, the best option is to conduct research on the selected segment and several in-depth interviews to understand their motives, needs and fears, and based on the data, start building a chain of messages.
And now about your profile:
- It should be adapted to the target audience;
- It is advisable to lay down the main message of the brand in the positioning;
- Thanks to the profile, it should be clear who you are and what to expect from you.
If a person comes in for 30 seconds to see who you are, they will already understand the context.
And only after that send the first message.
Before writing it, we always ask ourselves a control question:
“How relevant is this message to this person with their roles and tasks at the moment?”
And how do you prepare a contact for a dialogue?
